The monarch further urged President Buhari to address the challenges facing the nation, instead of witch-hunting his perceived political opponents.

Speaking on Ekweremadu, who is also from Enugu state, Igwe Agana alleged that there is a grand plot to remove the deputy Senate president from his office.

He pointed out the murder attempt on the life of Ekweremadu on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, as a basis for his allegation, while bemoaning the silence of the presidency over the matter.

According to Vanguard, the monarch equally said that by President Buhari’s recent actions, Nigeria’s democracy is under serious threat.

Meanwhile, reports say Saraki and Ekweremadu could face stringent bail conditions when they are arraigned in court today, June 27.

A National Assembly source alleged that the federal ministry of justice plans to put pressure on the trial judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Abuja High Court, to impose stringent conditions on the duo.

In a related development, Saraki has reiterated that he knows nothing about how the rules were adopted in the inauguration of the 8th Senate which produced him as Nigeria’s number three citizen.
