The forgery case against Saraki and Ekweremadu brought before an Abuja High Court was earlier stalled as court officials confirmed that the two presiding officers of Senate had not been properly served with the charges.

The federal government had, through the office of the Attorney General filed the charges against Saraki and Ekweremadu as well as former Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Abubakar Maikasuwa and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi. But Ike Ekweremadu has absolved himself of any forging senate rules to pave way for the emergence of Bukola Saraki as Senate president.
