The board of top premier league team, Sunshine Stars FC have continued the rehabilitation process at the club with the new Nigeria Professional Football League just around the corner.

Following a sixth place finish last season, and departure of ex-coach Kennedy Boboye, Samson Unuanel, the former Kwara United manager, was appointed as head coach of Sunshine Stars last month.

The club have since then gone on to strike a deal with Super Eagles team B captain Chima Akas who played on loan at relegated Sharks from Shooting Stars this past season.

According to a report on Complete Sports, the Akure Gunners have also completed the signing of Christian Pyagbara and Markson Ojobo from Sharks FC and Enyimba respectively.

The Akure-based outfit has been active in the transfer market with major signings.

Christian Pyagbara was the highest goal scorer for the relegated Sharks in their campaign last term while Markson Ojobo was part of the league winning squad but was sacked by Enyimba for breaching the club’s code of conduct.

Sunshine Stars had been in sparkling form all season but gave up to pressure when it mattered most.

They were denied a continental ticket on the final day of the 2015 NPFL season by eventual winners, Enyimba FC after a 0-0 draw at Teslim Balogun stadium.
